Finding Inspiration at Every Turn
In 2024 art historian Mariska returned to the Amsterdam after 30 years in London and New York.
A lot had changed including Amsterdam now being just as cosmopolitan as London or New York.
Impressed by the rich cultural offerings and lively cultural scene, Mariska was surprised to find
few events offered in English, despite the Dutch being so multi-lingual.

Many art and cultural institutions quickly understood the gap in their offerings,
as did art historian Brigitte, community builder Katinka and social media manager Alexis!
Excited by the project, we began to set up a platform for
expats, re-pats and culture loving Amsterdammers.

and Art & Culture Key was born!

We hope that the social events that we are planning will open up
Dutch art & cultural destinations to English speaking audiences,
bring like minded people together,
and offer some unique and fun events in Amsterdam's cultural calendar.
