In September 2026, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam opens a major retrospective dedicated to iconic Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Ahead of the opening, Art & Culture Key invites you to an exclusive preview lecture that offers a deep insight into her life, her artistic vision and what visitors can expect from this landmark exhibition.
Kusama's work, spanning painting, sculpture, installation and performance is characterised by her signature motifs of dots, infinity mirrors and bold, repetitive patterns. Her journey from post-war Japan to New York and back, and her decades of prolific output from her studio in Tokyo, make for a compelling story that this lecture will bring vividly to life.
